For our presentation, we will discuss public and filter, mass amateurizaton, and citizen journalism. As Shirky explained in his reading, the importance of citizen journalism and mass amateurization in our society is growing. However, is our society putting it to good use or will we forever dumb ourselves down? This is something that we as aspiring journalist have to think about for our future and for the future of journalism. Mass amateurization will continue to evolve, and as aspiring professional journalists should we consider that as a threat or should we join this revolution in some way? These are one of the many questions I think journalist should keep in mind and take into consideration. We have all these different kinds of social media tools to our reach that should challenge us to become better journalist whether it's at a professional level or citizen level. What is true, however, is that we have to do our research and always be reliable if we want to be taken seriously in our careers.
